First-Time Buying Reps — Agent Comparison and What to Pick
A decision tree for first-time reps buyers: which 代购 agent to start on based on your country, order size, and comfort with Chinese UX.
If this is your first reps order, the agent landscape looks like a wall of near-identical names with varying FX percentages. It's not as complicated as it looks. For 90% of first orders the right agent is Kakobuy. This guide explains why, and when the other 10% should pick something else.
The default recommendation
Pick Kakobuy if you're not sure.
Reasons:
- Smoothest onboarding and English UX
- Fast QC (24-48 hours)
- First-order coupon is consistently active
- Dispute handling is the best of the T1 agents
- Warehouse handles all categories competently
When to pick someone else
Pick Superbuy if…
- You're consolidating 10+ items over weeks/months
- Your order is mostly apparel with shoe mixing
- You want 180-day free warehouse storage
See how to use Superbuy.
Pick Sugargoo if…
- You value Discord-based live support
- You're buying high-value items where dispute speed matters
- You're part of the reps Discord community already
See how to use Sugargoo.
Pick Hoobuy if…
- You're in the EU
- You want DDP (VAT pre-paid) customs handling
- Your parcel is under 2 kg (cheaper line-haul for small parcels)
See how to checkout on Hoobuy.
Pick Loongbuy if…
- You're buying a time-sensitive sneaker drop
- You need QC in 12-24 hours to rebuy
- You've done 1+ order elsewhere already
See Loongbuy review.
Pick CSSBuy if…
- You've done 3+ orders elsewhere
- FX saving is the priority
- You're okay with a dated UI
Decision tree
"I just want to buy one pair of sneakers"
→ Kakobuy
"I want to order 10+ apparel items over 3 months"
→ Superbuy
"I'm in the EU, ordering 2-3 items"
→ Hoobuy with DHL DDP
"I need a reliable dispute process for expensive items"
"I've bought 3 times and want savings"
→ CSSBuy
"I want the first-order coupon maximized"
→ Oopbuy (see Oopbuy guide)
Variables that don't matter as much as you think
- FX markup difference under 2%: $10-20 on a typical order. Not worth picking a worse-UX agent for this.
- Coupon stacking: first-order coupons can't be combined with seller discounts; pick based on UX not stacking math.
- Warehouse location: T1 agents all have warehouses within 500km of the main supplier hubs; location is a non-issue for timing.
Variables that do matter
- Your country's customs regime: EU needs DDP handling; US is lenient; UK needs clear declared-value under £135 ideally.
- Your order size: one item → Kakobuy; 10+ items → Superbuy.
- Your timing: drops need Loongbuy; leisure pace is fine on any.
- Your payment method: most agents accept cards; crypto limited; PayPal typically indirect only.
Realistic first-order timeline
- Sign up and fund: same day
- Buy an item: same day
- Seller ships to warehouse: 3-7 business days
- QC photos: 1-3 days after arrival (agent dependent)
- Accept, submit for shipping: same day
- International shipping: 7-21 days (country/line dependent)
- Total: 2-5 weeks from order to your door
Set the expectation accordingly. Rushed first orders tend to go wrong.
Frequently asked
Is there a trial / test order option?
No, but any agent accepts orders as small as 20 CNY (≈ $3). A cheap T-shirt or sticker is a valid first order to test the flow.
Do I need a VPN to order?
No. All major agents are accessible globally.
Can I use a gift card?
Indirectly. Most agents accept cards funded by gift cards.
Which agent has the best English reviews?
Kakobuy is the most-reviewed in English forums. r/Reps and the Cherish flowchart have extensive Kakobuy-specific threads.
Should I read every agent's Terms of Service?
Skim them for dispute policies and storage fees. The legal language is boilerplate; the practical policies are what matter.
If you're going with the default, head to Kakobuy spreadsheet and click any item. For a deeper per-agent breakdown see the individual guides: Kakobuy, Superbuy, CSSBuy, Hoobuy.
